"RINO Rob" Portman. What, You Thought RINO’s Were Vertebrates?!

2009/11/05

Ohio’s RINO Rob Portman is running for US Senate, to replace outgoing disgraced RINO Senator George Voinovich.

[Note the nice pastel blues and gentle greens on his website. So… tasteful. No. I’m not talking about the colors. I’m talking about the copy, dammit.]

An example of Portman’s manly spine and political courage, from his campaign website:

Energy

“Ohio is a resource-rich state. We have coal, natural gas and oil production, and biofuels. We also have two nuclear power plants and a facility positioned to be the nation’s uranium enrichment plant for nuclear fuel. Green technology and alternative energy are also expanding in Ohio, including wind power, solar and biofuels.

“Rather than levy a job-killing tax on the kind of energy Ohio depends on, which is being proposed in Washington, we should encourage the use of all our natural resources, renewable energy, nuclear power, technology, and conservation in a way that breaks our dependence on foreign oil and leads to a cleaner environment.“

We received a call last night from the Portman Campaign. I made it clear to the chap that if Portman was a libertarian at heart and a dedicated Conservative, he’d get my vote and my active support. I also made it clear that if he was just another RINO, the OHIO Republican Party had better watch for grassfires.

EITHER ROB WILL EVOLVE INTO A PRINCIPLED VERTEBRATE, OR HE’LL HAVE TO GO BACK TO RENTING-OUT LAWNMOWERS.

HERE’S THE THING: Portman isn’t the problem. He’s merely one symptom of lazy dips such as myself, too busy in the past to take active interest in the future of the State and the Nation. It’s one thing to mind one’s own interest and not want to be bothered. It’s quite another to be negligent while RINOs and Donkeys breed in the garden.

My note to supporters of Democrat challenger Fisher… [Watch it! This is a family show. -Ed.] Fine, then. No Comment.
