Hmmmm…. Rather handsome “woman” that. Rather telling given the Arabic calligraphy above “her” head. I remember hearing that there was an old Arab proverb that goes something like Women for duty, boys for pleasure and melons for ecstasy. To quote Jerome Seinfeld, “not that there’s anything wrong with that”
So, where’s the melon?
Heh.
It’s not a great painting. It’s competent; technically there are things about it an interested student should note. But the melon? The melon is whether one would want this hanging in view every day. I don’t see the melon either.
